Wanted – Youth Workers

CANDI is a youth and community charity based in Cinderford and is seeking motivated and passionate Youth Workers to enhance its existing provision. Whilst working within the community generally, CANDI is particularly committed to increasing the opportunities for young people, and to raising their aspirations. It has an impressive track-record of supporting some of the most difficult-to-reach young people in the area and provides a drop-in for young people aged 11 to 17 in Cinderford and a satellite drop-in in Drybrook. We are looking for Youth Workers to work with our young people to take this project to the next level. Currently, YouthSpace is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening, but we aim to extend this provision to other times, including weekends. We want to hear from candidates who will be responsible for delivery of one or more CANDI YouthSpace sessions and would be willing to work anything from 2 hours to 20 hours a week in either Cinderford, Drybrook or both. This is an ideal opportunity to choose your own working hours to fit in with your lifestyle. Similarly, we want to extend our range of activities so this is your chance to bring your interests, whether they be music, art, craft, dance, drama, sports, cookery, games or anything else, to the party. Salary is dependent upon experience. We offer mentoring and training. The successful candidates will

• have a genuine commitment to young people and an understanding of issues affecting their lives
• be able to treat the concerns of young people with respect, tact and sensitivity, whilst maintaining confidentiality within the boundaries that govern youth work.
